Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has once again emerged with a triple victory at the 26th PC.com Readers’ Choice Awards 2026, winning Best Tech University, Best AI University and Best Future-Ready University.

The achievement marks APU’s fourth consecutive year of recognition at the PC.com Awards and follows its triple crown in the same three categories in 2025, strengthening its standing as a university closely associated with technology, innovation and future-focused education.

Held on 28 October 2026 at Hilton Petaling Jaya Hotel, the PC.com Readers’ Choice Awards formed part of a joint celebration with the BusinessToday Industry Choice Awards. The evening brought together leaders and innovators from across Malaysia’s technology and corporate landscape.

Themed “Humanity in Intelligence”, this year’s PC.com Awards attracted more than 150 nominations across categories spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, connectivity, digital payments, education and consumer technology. Importantly, the winners were determined through readers’ votes, reflecting consumer confidence in the brands and institutions recognised.

Representing APU at the ceremony were Professor Dr Ho Chin Kuan, Vice-Chancellor; Professor Ts Dr Murali Raman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Development & Strategy); Professor Ir EUR ING Dr Vinesh Thiruchelvam, Chief Innovation, Enterprise & Sustainability Officer; Dr Teh Choon Jin, Senior Director, Administration & Human Resources; Professor Dr Mohammad Falahat Nejadmahani, Director, Strategic Research Institute; Professor Ir Dr Siva Kumar Sivanesan, Head of the School of Engineering; Associate Professor Dr Thang Ka Fei, Senior Head of the School of Technology; Associate Professor Ts Dr Tan Chin Ike, Head of the School of Computing; and Mr Vijay Reddy, Senior Manager, Special Projects, CEO Office.

Shikata Noriyuki and Timor-Leste Ambassador to Malaysia H.E. Lisualdo Menezes Coimbra Gaspar graced the occasion and presented awards to recipients.

Three Awards, One Future-Ready Vision

For APU, the three awards represent interconnected dimensions of its educational mission.

The Best Tech University title reflects APU’s longstanding emphasis on technology as an integral part of teaching, learning and innovation. Across Computing, Engineering, Business, Finance, Design and other disciplines, students are increasingly exposed to technologies shaping contemporary industries, from cloud computing and cybersecurity to robotics, immersive technologies, data analytics and intelligent systems.

The Best AI University recognition comes at a particularly significant time as artificial intelligence moves rapidly from a specialised discipline into a transformative capability affecting almost every sector.

In September 2026, APU launched Malaysia’s first AI Supercomputing Lab powered by NVIDIA DGX Spark™, giving students access to advanced computing capabilities for areas including large language models, generative AI, machine learning, data science and Agentic AI. The initiative reflects APU’s commitment to moving students beyond simply using AI tools towards understanding, developing and deploying intelligent systems.

The Best Future-Ready University award brings these efforts together by recognising education that prepares students not only for today’s employment landscape, but also for professions and industries that continue to evolve.

APU CEO and Co-Founder Datuk Parmjit Singh said the readers’ recognition carries particular significance because it reflects how the wider community perceives the university.

“Winning these three categories again is meaningful because technology, AI and future-readiness are not separate ambitions for APU. Together, they represent how we approach education. Our responsibility is not simply to equip students for the jobs that exist today, but to develop graduates who can continue learning, adapting and contributing as technology transforms industries and society.”

From Technology Users to Technology Creators

APU’s approach to technology education increasingly emphasises experiential learning, industry relevance and the ability to apply knowledge to real-world challenges.

Students encounter emerging technologies through specialised learning environments, industry collaborations, research activities, hackathons, innovation challenges and national and international competitions.

The establishment of the AI Supercomputing Lab represents another step in this direction, enabling students to experiment with computationally demanding AI applications within a higher education environment.

Professor Dr Ho Chin Kuan, Vice-Chancellor of APU, said future-readiness requires universities to look beyond teaching individual technologies.

“Technologies and platforms will continue to change, and some of the tools students use today may be very different within only a few years. What matters is developing strong fundamentals, curiosity, problem-solving ability and the confidence to keep learning. We want our graduates to be creators and responsible users of technology who understand not only what AI can do, but how it can create meaningful value for people and society.”

Recognition Built on Continuity

The 2026 result continues APU’s strong record at the PC.com Readers’ Choice Awards. In 2025, APU was likewise named Best Tech University, Best AI University and Best Future-Ready University, in an awards programme voted on by more than 36,000 readers nationwide.

The continued recognition reflects APU’s ongoing investment in technology-enabled education, academic development, industry engagement and learning infrastructure.

For APU, however, the significance extends beyond the trophies.

As AI, autonomous technologies and intelligent systems increasingly reshape the way people learn and work, the university believes its role is to ensure graduates remain confident in technology while retaining the human qualities that machines cannot replace — creativity, critical thinking, ethical judgement, communication, empathy and leadership.

The triple victory therefore resonates strongly with this year’s theme, “Humanity in Intelligence”: advancing technology while ensuring that people, purpose and responsible innovation remain at the centre of progress.
