Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) student-athlete Low Yu Xuan, Diploma in Information & Communication Technology student delivered an outstanding performance at the Varcity Racket Championship (VRC) 2025, securing the Silver Medal in the Women’s Singles Table Tennis category.
The championship, held from 4 to 8 November 2025, was organised by Universiti Malaya (UM) in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE), featuring four sports: Badminton, Table Tennis, Squash, and Tennis.
APU fielded a strong contingent of 13 student-athletes competing in Badminton, Table Tennis, and Squash.

Low Yu Xuan emerged as APU’s sole medallist this round, showcasing exceptional skill and composure on the table tennis court.
“I am truly honoured to win the Silver medal for APU. The competition was intense, but it motivated me to push beyond my limits.
“I am grateful for the support from my coaches, teammates, and the university. This achievement inspires me to keep improving and aim even higher in future tournaments,” said Yu Xuan.
She trained consistently and practised twice a day to improve her skills and fitness. During the match, she tried to stay calm even when she lost two sets, and she slowly caught up.
“Even though I lost in the final, I felt that I performed well and gained a better mindset. I enjoyed the competition because it showed me that I can play even better in future matches.
“It definitely added value. It taught me discipline and how to stay focused, which are useful for both sports and academics. Although the competition did not fully meet my expectations, it motivated me to improve further,” she concluded.

In Badminton, APU was represented by Eng Ler Xian, Gan Zi Yu, Hoh Jane Huey, Jason Leong Zhen Seng, Reon Tanaka, Soo Hao Lam, Tan Yew Chun, Tho Wen Tao, Victoria Phui Ming Qi, and Lok Hong Wey.
