The Meta Maths League 2025 (MML25) at APU brought together 215 students from 16 schools for a day of fast-paced challenges under the theme ‘Solve, Compete and Shine’, where all participants showcased speed, strategy, and teamwork across four games, with RobloxWarriors67, NO KHOO NO COOL, and cincai_senior_1 taking top honours.
Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) once again turned mathematical problem-solving into a thrilling celebration of intellect, teamwork, and creativity with the Meta Maths League 2025 (MML25), organised by the School of Mathematics, Actuarial & Quantitative Studies (SoMAQS).
Formerly known as the Inter-school Mathematics Competition, MML25 provides a platform for students from schools across Malaysia to showcase their mathematical skills and compete at the highest level.
This year’s theme, ‘Solve, Compete and Shine’, perfectly captured the energy of the day, as young minds raced against time, collaborated with precision, and shone with mathematical brilliance.

Bringing together 215 students from 16 schools across Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Putrajaya, Pahang, and Johor, the APU campus buzzed with excitement, energy, and learning.
The day began with an inspiring opening speech by Professor Ts Dr Murali Rahman, APU Deputy Vice Chancellor, who highlighted the importance of critical thinking and innovation in mathematics.
Participants were then welcomed by Ms Nur Amanina Zawali, Academic Leader of SoMAQS, followed by Dr Kanagi Rajandran, Project Leader of MML25, who briefed everyone on the rules and ignited the competitive spirit.
A Day of Mathematical Mastery

Throughout the day, students tackled a series of fast-paced, intellectually stimulating challenges designed to test both speed and strategy across four games: Maths Relay Race, Math Chrono, Bingo Battle 25, and The Math Marathon.
These engaging challenges combined logic, problem-solving, and teamwork, encouraging participants to think quickly and play smart.
After a day of fierce competition, teamwork, and laughter, the top three winning teams were announced: RobloxWarriors67 (Sequoia International School), NO KHOO NO COOL (Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Cheras Perdana), and cincai_senior_1 (Pin Hwa High School).
Each team demonstrated exceptional mathematical skill, speed, and collaboration, earning prestigious trophies and cash prizes in recognition of their dedication and sharp thinking.
The day concluded with a lucky draw, certificate presentation, and a joyful group photo session featuring students, teachers, and APU lecturers as a fitting finale to a memorable event.
Dr Kanagi Rajandran expressed her gratitude and extended her heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of Meta Maths League 2025.
“Your dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm brought this event to life and created an unforgettable experience for all participants. Congratulations to all of us for making MML25 a remarkable success.”
Meta Maths League 2025 proved once again that mathematics is not just about numbers. It is about creativity, collaboration, and confidence. Together, participants, organisers, and mentors continue to solve, compete, and shine.
