APU and Evenesis Form Strategic Partnership to Advance Research, Innovation, and Industry Collaboration

This partnership fosters exciting opportunities for student growth through advanced research in Data Analytics, Cyber Security, and Software Development, collaborative projects, internships, and final year projects (FYPs), with mentorship and event technology expertise from Evenesis enriching APU’s programmes in Cyber Security, Event Management, Marketing Management, and Digital Marketing.

Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) made a significant stride in innovation and collaboration on 9th December 2024, signing a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Y Us Sdn. Bhd. (Evenesis) ― a renowned event management software company specialising in event registration systems for corporate event planners, professional training providers, conference and exhibition organisers, and destination management companies. 

The MoU was formally signed by APU’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Ho Chin Kuan, and the CEO & Founder of Evenesis, Ts Mohd Yusno Mohd Yunos ,with the ceremony witnessed by APU’s Chief Innovation & Enterprise Officer, Prof Ir Eur Ing Ts Dr Vinesh Thiruchelvam, and Evenesis’ ISMS Lead & Technical Operations Manager, Mr Amir Luqman Amali Munif. 

“This partnership marks a pivotal moment for both institutions, setting the stage for potential sponsorship opportunities in research and development (R&D) areas such as Data Analytics, Cyber Security, and Software Development,” said Prof Dr Ho Chin Kuan.

He explained that this knowledge-sharing between APU and Evenesis is enhancing both the practical skills and technological expertise of their teams. 

Key initiatives include offering penetration testing consultancy to Evenesis, providing training programmes through APU’s Corporate Training Team, and guiding students through Final Year Projects (FYP) and startups. 

This collaboration will also encourage student internships, industrial attachments, and create career opportunities through a hands-on approach that connects academia with real-world industry challenges. 

APU will provide the necessary resources, such as working space, research equipment, and academic support, for students and staff involved in these R&D activities. 

In return, “Evenesis will offer valuable mentorship, practical experience in managing events, and contribute to APU’s event management module, bridging academic theory with industry practice,” said Ts Mohd Yusno Mohd Yunos.

Additionally, APU students will gain access to Evenesis’ Event Tech for use in their event management courses, facilitating real-life scenarios.

Evenesis staff will also undergo training provided by APU at a cost, ensuring the continuous exchange of expertise between both parties. 

Notably, Evenesis will advise APU on penetration testing services, helping to assess network and web security threats at a mutually agreed cost.

This collaboration not only strengthens APU’s existing Cyber Security, Events Management, Marketing Management, and Digital Marketing programmes, but also sets a precedent for fostering a continuous flow of knowledge, information, and technology transfer between the two organisations.

Also present at the event were APU’s Head of the School of Technology (SoT), Assoc Prof Dr Thang Ka Fei; Industry Liaison Head of Technology, Ts Dr Vinesha Selvarajah; Head of the Forensic & Security Research Center (FSEC), Dr Julia Juremi; and the Advisors and Coaches of the FSEC Student Section, Ms Nor Azlina Abdul Rahman.

While Evenesis’ team was represented by Ts Mohd Yusno Mohd Yunos, Mr Mohd Shahrinrezal Md Saat and Mr Amir Luqman Amali Munif key stakeholders, the official signatories and representatives involved will further enhance the depth of this collaboration.

This exciting partnership is poised to drive advancements in both academic and industry landscapes, laying the foundation for a future built on innovation and practical application of cutting-edge technologies.
