The primary goal of this visit was to give APU students invaluable exposure to the inner workings of the accounting and finance functions within the global business services industry. It also provided an opportunity to gain a recruiter’s perspective on internships and potential full-time employment after graduation.

The students were warmly welcomed by Ms Bernie Yong, Lead of Talent Management and Learning Development at Averis, who introduced them to the company’s operations and staff. The visit featured a series of insightful presentations from employees across various functions, sharing their professional journeys and accomplishments within the company.

The first-hand knowledge gained from these interactions greatly inspired the students as they began to chart their career paths. The visit also allowed them to engage with Averis recruiters and staff, offering a valuable networking opportunity to explore future career prospects.

Reflecting on the success of the visit, Associate Professor Dr Chong Lee Lee, Head of SoAF, expressed, "This visit provided our students with an excellent opportunity to witness the application of accounting and finance principles in a global business context. We are committed to ensuring our students are not only well-equipped academically but are also prepared to step into their professional careers with confidence and insight."
