APU Students Visit Robopreneur for Hands-On Insights

A group of twelve Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons) (Artificial Intelligence) students from the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) recently embarked on an inspiring industrial visit to Robopreneur Sdn Bhd, Cyberjaya. 

Held on 18th October 2024, this visit offered an immersive learning experience, bridging the gap between classroom theories and real-world applications of artificial intelligence and robotics. 

Organised by Dr Adeline Sneha J., Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor Dr Raja Rajeswari from the School of Computing (SoC), the visit highlighted advancements in robotics technology and service robots that are reshaping sectors like banking and finance. 

This exclusive industry engagement allowed students to delve into the future of AI-powered solutions and gain hands-on exposure to the fast-evolving robotics landscape.

The day featured an insightful presentation by Robopreneur’s founder, Dr Hanafiah Yussof, who shared the company’s mission, vision, and a showcase of innovative projects in the AI field. Through live demonstrations, students witnessed the power of robotics and artificial intelligence in action, observing firsthand how these cutting-edge technologies are revolutionising industry practices. 

Following the presentation, students embarked on a guided tour of the Robopreneur facilities. They observed the development and testing processes for robotic prototypes, gaining a practical understanding of what it takes to bring these concepts to life. 

A highlight of the day was the hands-on session, where students interacted directly with robotic solutions, deepening their appreciation for the functionalities and real-world applications of AI and robotics. 

A lively Q&A session concluded the visit, allowing students to engage with industry professionals on various topics, such as career paths in robotics, industry challenges, and emerging trends. These discussions provided invaluable insights and further motivated the students to pursue innovative paths in their careers.
