DisruptInvest Summit 2025: A Catalyst for Malaysian Innovation

Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) recently played host to the DisruptInvest Summit 2025, a ground-breaking event that brought together over 1,000 of Malaysia’s most dynamic entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate leaders. 

Organised and led by Nexea, with Enterprise@APU proudly serving as a key supporter and venue partner, the summit was a vibrant hub of bold ideas, strategic networking, and innovation-driven dialogue.

The summit proved to be a powerful catalyst, igniting collaborations across Malaysia’s thriving startup and corporate innovation ecosystem. 

Attendees were treated to a series of thought-provoking keynotes and insightful panel discussions featuring industry heavyweights. 

Speakers such as Gary Yeoh, PayNet Chief Marketing Officer; Alan Lim, Nexea Founding Partner; Alvin Vong, EquitiesTracker Chief Executive Officer; and Lim Kean Leong, CoffeeBot Founder shared invaluable perspectives on scaling startups, navigating digital transformation, and the evolving landscape of venture capital.

Echoing the opening remarks by Ben Lim, NEXEA Chief Executive Officer on the journey ‘from nature to nurture’, the Enterprise@APU team seized the opportunity to highlight their pioneering programmes and the comprehensive entrepreneurship ecosystem they have cultivated to nurture aspiring student entrepreneurs and startups within APU.

Dr Beh Ching Yew, APU Head of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, articulated APU’s deep commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

In accomplishing the entrepreneurship vision, Enterprise@APU is supported by a dedicated team of faculty-in-residence and educators, Ms Jasminder Kaur, Ms Farah Hanim Ismail, Ms Elvi Rahmi Indarta, Ms Haslina Hashim, Ms Rachel Chou Sok Fong, Mr Syed Mohd. Bahrin and Mr Tajuddin Rashid.

Beyond the main stage, the networking lounge and bustling partner booths pulsed with energy. 

Attendees enthusiastically explored cutting-edge technologies, forged new partnerships, and uncovered significant investment and business opportunities.

Professor Ir EUR ING Dr Vinesh Thiruchelvam, APU’s Chief Innovation and Enterprise Officer, emphasised the summit’s enormous influence on the university community.
