The School of Foundation (SoF) at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has successfully launched a monthly Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project in collaboration with Suriana Welfare Society Malaysia.

Running from February to November 2025, this initiative aims to provide comprehensive educational support for B40 children residing at PPR Mentari Court, through structured learning sessions that foster academic growth and personal development.

Lecturers responsible for overseeing the entire project:

  1. Ms Iman Danish Sha (Lecturer, SoF at APU)
  2. Ms Nur Azliyana Abdul Kadir (Lecturer, SoF at APU)
  3. Ms Jaspreet Kaur (Lecturer, SoF at APU)

Kicking off the series of monthly activities (workshops), the first session held on 7th March 2025, focused on language development through an interactive and engaging workshop designed to spark curiosity and creativity among the children.

During the session, the children took part in thoughtfully crafted activities that encouraged the use of descriptive words, helping them express themselves more confidently while broadening their vocabulary.

This hands-on approach not only enhanced their ability to articulate thoughts clearly but also nurtured their creativity and communication skills, equipping them with essential tools for both academic and personal growth.

Building on this strong foundation, this initiative will feature monthly 1.5-hour workshops carefully designed to enhance the children’s fundamental skills in English communication and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Future sessions will incorporate a variety of innovative teaching methods to encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and confidence-building, ensuring that the children remain engaged and motivated throughout their learning journey.
