APU’s 2025 Annual Bowling Tournament 2.0 saw almost 90 staff members compete across 22 teams, with Team SoMADsians claiming victory in the Best Team category, followed by FFSA and Alleycats, while individual honours went to Mr Saifullizan, Assistant Professor Ts Dr Arun Seeralan and Mr Thomas Raj in the Best Man category, and to Ms Fatin Hazwani, Ms Nur Amalina Jamaludin and Ms Debbie Liew Pooi Kuan in the Best Woman category.
The 2025 Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) Annual Bowling Tournament 2.0 brought together almost 90 staff members for a day of fun, friendly competition and unforgettable moments.
Held on 9 December 2025 at Ampang Superbowl, Summit USJ, Petaling Jaya, the event saw 22 creatively named teams roll their way to victory, celebrate camaraderie, and strengthen bonds across schools and departments.
After a series of exciting matches, team SoMADsians successfully defended their title as Best Team, with FFSA finishing second and Alleycats in third.


Individual honours went to Mr Saifullizan Abdul Wahab, Senior Lecturer at the School of Media, Arts and Design (SoMAD), who claimed Best Male, followed by Assistant Professor Ts Dr Arun Seeralan (School of Engineering) and Mr Thomas Raj (Senior Executive, Procurement and Finance).
In the Best Female category, Ms Fatin Hazwani, Administrative Executive at Postgraduate Academic Administration, took top honours, ahead of Ms Nur Amalina Jamaludin, Human Resource Executive and Ms Debbie Liew Pooi Kuan, Head of SoMAD.
Reflecting on the tournament, APU’s Chief Innovation & Enterprise Officer, Professor Ir EUR ING Dr Vinesh Thiruchelvam, said events like the Annual Bowling Tournament reminded us that collaboration and teamwork are not limited to the workplace.





“These occasions allowed our staff to connect, recharge and build meaningful relationships across disciplines,” added “A positive and connected community is essential for innovation and excellence. Seeing our colleagues come together with such enthusiasm truly embodied the spirit of APU.”
Special appreciation goes to Mr Ahmad Mohammad, Assistant Manager of Sports Development & Student Affairs, for coordinating the bowling event.
Other teams that brought colour and excitement to the event included King Pins, Four Sight, 21, Sasasa, Just Jalan, Qwerty, Office Hour Roll, Takkunu, Wonderpet, Super Star, Pin Spirit, Fabulous, Everything Urgent!, Cuci Longkang, Late Night Deployment, Fowfold Fortune, Super Striker, K-Pop Hunters, and 36.
With cheerful applause, friendly rivalries, and plenty of memorable moments, the tournament once again demonstrated that teamwork, fun, and community spirit strike the perfect balance at APU.
