BDO Malaysia Visit Sparks Career Inspiration for APU Accounting & Finance Students
A group of 40 students from Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) pursuing Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (Honours) programme recently embarked on an enriching industrial visit to BDO Malaysia's (BDO) office located at Menara Centara, Kuala Lumpur.

Organised by the School of Accounting & Finance (SoAF), the visit on 13th March 2024 was aimed at providing students with invaluable insights into the professional world of public accounting and finance.

Led by two lecturers from SoAF, Ms Phuah Eng Sze and Mr Bryan Chan Loke Teng, the students comprising Year 2 and Year 3 cohorts were welcomed by Ms Thong Siew Fong, Director of Talent Recruitment, and her team from BDO’s Talent Recruitment division.
The visit commenced with an engaging introduction to BDO’s history and the range of professional services offered by the firm across international markets.

During the visit, students had the privilege of participating in a comprehensive session led by Mr Bernard Ng Bin Hang, Assistant Manager in the Audit & Assurance team at BDO.
Mr Ng shared invaluable knowledge and personal experiences, providing students with a deeper understanding of the dynamic opportunities available within the field of public accounting.
The highlight of the visit included interactive sessions where students could network with BDO alumni and recruiters.
This interaction allowed students to gain first-hand insights into career paths, internship opportunities, and the work culture at BDO.

Ms Phuah emphasised the significance of such industry visits in shaping students’ professional journey by stating that the experience at BDO was truly eye-opening for the students.
