The session focused on how game-based elements can transform learning experiences, elevate motivation, and strengthen engagement within professional settings.

The workshop was led by Mr Mohd Nadzrin Wahab, an industry specialist in instructional design and learning innovation from EnSync Learning, a human performance consultancy dedicated to enabling and enhancing workplace learning. His expertise added depth and relevance to the session, illustrating how gamification is becoming a valuable tool in shaping dynamic and meaningful learning environments.

Arranged by Ms Amirah Husna, Lecturer cum Lab Technician at SoP, the workshop was designed for students taking Industrial & Organisational Psychology and Human Factors Psychology. It aimed to provide practical exposure to emerging trends in training strategies and workplace design—ensuring students gain both theoretical grounding and industry-relevant insights.

Mr Nadzrin shared compelling real-life examples of how gamification elements—such as challenges, reward systems, point scoring, and narrative-style learning—can be embedded into training programmes to make them more exciting and effective.

He also highlighted how these techniques can be adapted beyond training rooms. From improving employee motivation and performance management to strengthening teamwork, onboarding, and productivity, gamified approaches can be flexibly tailored to support an organisation’s goals.

Students gained a broader understanding of how game-based strategies can influence workplace culture and day-to-day experiences. The session was highly interactive, offering hands-on activities that allowed participants to experience the principles of gamification first-hand. Senior students shared that the workshop was particularly informative, noting that it delivered practical insights while remaining enjoyable and engaging from start to finish.
