As part of Digital Dewi 2.0: Penjanaan Pendapatan Khas untuk Usahawan B40 & M40, supported by Yayasan Hasanah and the Ministry of Finance Malaysia, the second empowerment session titled “Scaling up Profitability” was held at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) on 23rd August 2025.

Organised by QF4 Tech Asia, in collaboration with APU’s DIGITGAL (Driving Girls in Technology, Growth, and Leadership), the session was driven by APU’s dedicated lecturers under APU’s DIGITGAL, who brought their academic expertise and industry insights to empower women entrepreneurs in enhancing their financial literacy and business growth strategies:
1. Dr Meera Eeswaran (Senior Lecturer, School of Accounting and Finance at APU)
2. Dr Marjea Jannat Mohua (Lecturer, School of Accounting and Finance at APU)
3. Ms Ong Yu Yan (Lecturer, School of Accounting and Finance at APU)
4. Ms Kavitha Arunasalam (Senior Lecturer, School of Mathematics, Actuarial, and Quantitative Studies at APU)
Expertise and Guidance from APU’s DIGITGAL

The session featured a series of engaging and thought-provoking talks that offered participants fresh perspectives on managing and growing their businesses effectively.
The discussions centred on practical financial management, the importance of innovation in driving profitability, and the mindset needed to sustain long-term business success.
The session also highlighted the value of strategic planning, digital adaptation, and continuous learning as key pillars for business scalability.
Participants were encouraged to embrace data-driven decision-making, explore new market opportunities, and leverage collaboration as a means to expand their reach.
Interactive Learning to drive Financial Growth

For the next part of the session, participants engaged in a series of practical, hands-on activities such as Spring Board Financial Literacy Game; a fun yet insightful exercise that helped participants understand cash flow management, as well as group activities focused on creating innovative products and learning the essentials of taxation for small businesses.
These activities were not just informative, but also empowering, helping participants translate theory into real-world entrepreneurial applications.
Paving the way forward
The session proved to be more than just a learning activity; it was an empowering experience that equipped the participants with the essential knowledge, practical tools, and confidence to strengthen their entrepreneurial mindset.
Participants walked away with a deeper understanding of how to manage finances effectively, innovate strategically, and make informed decisions that drive long-term growth.
This collaborative initiative between QF4 Tech Asia and APU’s DIGITGAL stands as a strong example of how partnerships between academia and community organisations can create meaningful impact.
