
The School of Psychology (SoP) at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) proudly participated in the Malaysian Psychology Students Assembly (MAPSA) 2025, held on 10th May 2025 at the University of Cyberjaya.
The participation of SoP in this conference was led by Ms Raihan Munira Moh Sani (Lecturer and Final Year Project Manager, SoP at APU).
This conference brought together psychology students from across Malaysia for a full day of enriching academic exchange, research presentations, and professional development.
Exploring the future of Psychology

With the compelling theme “Mind meets Machine: Psychology and the future,” this year’s conference examined the growing intersection between artificial intelligence (AI) and psychology.
Attendees explored how AI is shaping the future of mental healthcare, human behavior analysis, education, and research methodologies.
A key highlight of the conference was the active participation of APU’s students, six of whom took part in the poster presentation session:

These students showcased their research projects, demonstrating not only their academic dedication, but also their ability to communicate complex psychological concepts effectively.

Nur Batrisya, Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Psychology: “Presenting my research project at the conference was a truly enriching experience, as it boosted my confidence and inspired me to further explore the field by connecting with others who share a genuine passion for psychology.”
Empowering Minds, Envisioning futures

Ms Raihan highlighted how the conference was an insightful platform for students to present their research projects and receive valuable feedback from external examiners, which serves as a crucial step in enhancing the quality of undergraduate research at APU.
Whereas, Ms Vinorra Shaker (Head, SoP at APU), who also served as one of the esteemed panel judges for the oral presentation sessions, emphasised how early exposure to academic engagement is essential in cultivating a vibrant and supportive community of future psychology professionals.
She also expressed that opportunities like MAPSA; empower students to think critically, present confidently, and connect meaningfully with peers and experts beyond the classroom, ultimately inspiring them to grow both academically and professionally.
