The School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) organised an industrial visit to GreenX on 17th April 2025.
Led by Ms Durrah Dhaniyah (Lecturer, SAF at APU), the primary aim of the visit was to provide students with first-hand exposure to the real-world applications of blockchain technology, particularly in tokenisation, security token offering (STO) compliance, digital finance infrastructure, and ethical fintech innovations.
Activity 1: Introduction to GreenX

The visit began with a session by Mr Jeremy Joo, Chief Web3 Strategist at GreenX, who introduced GreenX’s mission to bridge ethical finance and digital innovation.
As a licensed digital asset exchange operator under Labuan Financial Services Authority, GreenX offers the world’s first Shariah-compliant ESG-focused digital asset platform, dedicated to promoting financial inclusion and sustainability through tokenisation and regulated digital finance.
This insightful introduction provided students with a valuable understanding of how ethical principles can be integrated into cutting-edge financial technologies, aligning closely with their academic focus on digital currencies and blockchain applications.
Activity 2: Learning about Tokenisation and STO Compliance

Following the introduction, students gained in-depth knowledge about tokenisation, the structure of STOs, and the legal frameworks ensuring regulatory compliance.
The session emphasised how real-world assets are digitised and traded, offering a practical understanding of blockchain-based fundraising and investment mechanisms.
Activity 3: Insights into Cybersecurity and ESG Business Models

For the last session, the GreenX team highlighted the role of cybersecurity in maintaining trust within digital ecosystems and elaborated on their commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
Discussions on market trends and challenges, including maintaining Shariah compliance and fostering community integration, showcased the complexities of merging finance with ethical and technological innovation.
