Digital Learning Best Practices Shared by APU Professor at UNESCO & UNICEF Event

Ir Ts Dr Alexander Chee Hon Cheong, an APU Mechanical Engineering Professor, delivered a captivating keynote address on innovative digital learning solutions at the prestigious 2024 Gateways Study Visit, hosted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Bali, Indonesia, where education leaders from over 20 countries gathered.

Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) proudly represented Malaysia at the prestigious 2024 Gateways Study Visit, hosted by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Bali, Indonesia. 

This international gathering brought together education leaders from over 20 countries — Australia, China, France, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Thailand, United States, United Kingdom, and Vietnam — to explore innovative digital learning solutions and foster global collaboration. 

Ir Ts Dr Alexander Chee Hon Cheong, a distinguished faculty member from the School of Engineering (SoE), joined esteemed delegates, including Mr Paridon Sahid and Mr Ahamad Hussin from the Malaysian Ministry of Education (MoE), to share insights and best practices. 

Dr Alexander, a renowned expert in Mechanical Engineering education and a key speaker representing APU, was nominated to deliver a captivating keynote address that resonated with the international audience. 

His presentation delved into critical areas such as:

  • Creating engaging and accessible learning environments through the strategic integration of digital tools and platforms.
  • Preparing graduates for the future workforce by forging strong university-industry partnerships and equipping students with in-demand skills.
  • Driving sustainable educational transformation by aligning curricula with the latest technological advancements and global educational needs.
