Microsoft Excel Intermediate Training empowers APU Staff

A group of staff members from various functional units, including Academic Administration, Human Resources, Finance, and the Asia Pacific Language Centre, recently participated in a four-session intermediate Microsoft Excel training programme.

Led by Ms Caryn Chuah (Senior Lecturer, School of Mathematics, Actuarial and Quantitative Studies at APU), the training was designed to enhance their Microsoft Excel expertise by equipping staff members with advanced skills to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and effectively manage and analyse data. 

Key Learning Outcomes

Firstly, staff members were introduced to essential functions such as Vertical Lookup (VLOOKUP), Logical IF, and Summation with Conditions (SUMIF), which enabled them to simplify and streamline complex data analysis processes effectively.

Secondly, the training provided staff members with the skills to craft and edit advanced formulas, enabling them to generate real-time insights and make more informed decisions with greater confidence.

On top of that, staff members explored a variety of time-saving shortcuts, allowing them to complete tasks with greater speed and accuracy.

The training received enthusiastic feedback from all staff members, with many praising its practical approach and immediate applicability to their daily tasks.
