Students Explore Sustainability Practices at Spritzer EcoPark

APU’s School of Marketing & Management students gained valuable insights into sustainable business practices during a visit to Spritzer EcoPark, exploring the eco-friendly facilities of Malaysia’s leading bottled water brand.

Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation’s (APU) School of Marketing & Management (SoMM) students recently gained valuable insights into sustainable business practices during a visit to Spritzer EcoPark

Organised by SoMM Senior Lecturer, Ms Harjinder Kaur, the trip on 9th January 2025, offered undergraduate and postgraduate’s students specialising in Digital Marketing, Global Marketing Management, and International Business Communication a unique opportunity to explore the eco-friendly park and visitor centre of Malaysia’s leading bottled water brand. 

Guided by Spritzer’s Event & Promotions Executives, Ms Noraina Syafikah Mat Rejab and Ms Nur Syafiqah Ahmad Zaidi, the visit focused on sustainability, branding, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry.

A presentation and corporate video showcased Spritzer’s commitment to water conservation, responsible sourcing, eco-friendly packaging, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction. 

Students also gained behind-the-scenes insights into Spritzer’s advanced bottling and quality control processes, as well as the importance of Tropical Rainforest Conservation at the EcoPark. 

“This industrial visit gave students real-world exposure,” explained Ms Harjinder, “Bridging theory with industry practice, all students gained insights into sustainability in business operations, explored modern production technology, and saw how automation boosts efficiency and sustainability.”

Hands-on Learning and Sustainability in Action 

“We saw the bottling, labelling, and packing process, explored advanced machinery, and learned about hygiene and safety measures,” said Amnah Sohail, a Masters in Global Marketing Management student. 

“The Spritzer team answered our questions on sustainability, revealing that their warehouse runs entirely on solar power. It was a memorable and valuable learning experience.” 

Fellow Master’s student, Ahmed Khalil Ahmed Fagir, added, “We learned about its sustainable practices, including solar-powered energy and a fully automated production line with a machine-operated warehouse.”

Digital Marketing student, Ow Yen Tong, was equally impressed, “Visiting Spritzer taught me about mineral water production and environmental practices. I was impressed by their quality control and sustainability efforts, making it a valuable experience.” 

The visit provided a valuable learning experience, reinforcing students’ academic learning with practical knowledge of sustainable business, digital branding, and production efficiency.
