The collaboration aims to empower the digital upskilling of APU’s lecturers and graduates through knowledge sharing, training, certification, job/internship placement activities, and others collectively referred to as ‘The Programme’.

This partnership was initiated by APU Head School of Technology (SoT) Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thang Ka Fei, and APU Industry Liaison Head Technology Ts. Dr. Vinesha Selvarajah, to collaborate on a strategic transformation action plan with LifeTech, to upskill the APU workforce and students in areas identified as key developmental areas.

“This collaboration will result in more new hires with specialised abilities and less training being necessary,” he added, “We are thrilled to be collaborating closely with APU to support and digitally transform the APU workforce and students, as well as to transform and support any staff or students taking part in ‘The Programme’.”

The collaboration between APU and LifeTech Solutions “Reflects the commitment of both organisations to develop technology and innovation to enhance the competitiveness of Malaysia’s AI, cybersecurity, digital forensics, and network sectors,” said Prof. Ho.

“APU is currently the first private institution to adopt ‘The Programme’ in a real-world setting. We plan to develop more technology and innovation programmes to improve our courses to continually meet our student’s needs and the industry’s expectations.

“We will play an important part in increasing competitiveness under the new Programme through this empowering collaboration,” he concludes.

Under the MoU, both organisations will identify and choose any students or employees who will take part in ‘The Programme’, and both parties will also give them academic support and access to facilities.

LifeTech Solutions and APU will occasionally provide adequate supervision and directions to ensure that academic and professional performance meets its standards. Meanwhile, APU academicians who take sabbatical work leave will gain tremendous practical industry exposure.
